How upCampo was born: from pest scouting to managing the whole operation
upCampo started by solving pest scouting and grew into a farm operations platform. The story of a solution built from inside the farm.
Jonas RotilliCEO and founder of upCampo

upCampo was not born in a meeting room or in a polished presentation. It was born in the field.
In the day-to-day of the farm, dealing with pests, operations, crews, deadlines and decisions that cannot wait.
Anyone who lives agriculture knows: the problem is almost never a lack of work. The problem is a lack of organized information.
For a long time, we saw the same scene play out again and again:
- scouting done on paper;
- spreadsheets nobody updates;
- information scattered across WhatsApp;
- decisions made on gut feeling because the data does not arrive in time.
And when the decision comes late, the loss comes with it.
That is when the question that changed everything came up: why does farm technology feel so far from the reality of the farm?
Most systems are born in the office and then try to adapt to the field. upCampo took the opposite path.
We started by solving a real problem: pest scouting. But in practice, it quickly became clear that data is useless if it does not arrive organized, and collecting information is pointless if it does not lead to action.
That is when upCampo evolved. We stopped being a single-purpose tool and started building a farm operations management platform, designed to:
- organize the farm’s routine;
- connect scouting and operations;
- build a reliable history;
- give clarity to whoever has to decide.
All without making things complicated.
Here, technology is not the star. It is a tool — to help growers and managers see the operation better, cut hidden errors, avoid rework and decide with more confidence.
Because in agriculture, deciding in the dark is expensive.
That is why upCampo exists: to move the farm from guesswork to data-driven decisions. To make technology fit the daily life of the field — not just the slide deck.
Management is not a luxury. It is survival. And good technology is the kind that works in practice.
Do you feel your decisions today are driven more by data or by gut feeling? Let’s talk.
