Your farm inside ChatGPT and Claude: launch of UPí's MCP connector, with the UPí mascot holding a tablet

upCampo, a Brazilian farm management technology company, is launching the MCP connector for UPí, its artificial intelligence. With it, growers, managers and teams can look up farm data and record operations inside ChatGPT and Claude, using their own upCampo account and the same permissions they already have in the system.

ChatGPT or Claude? For upCampo, either works. You ask the way you already talk to the AI — “how much rain fell on each field in the last 30 days?”, “which crop protection products are below minimum stock?”, “what’s the cost per hectare of each field this season?” — UPí checks upCampo on the spot, and the answer comes back with your operation’s numbers.

In July, UPí brought farm management to WhatsApp. Now it reaches the two AI assistants most used in the office.

What is UPí’s MCP connector?

It’s a bridge between the AI assistant and the upCampo platform. You add an address once in ChatGPT or Claude, sign in with your upCampo account, and from then on the assistant answers with your farm’s real data instead of generic information.

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that Claude and ChatGPT have adopted to connect to external systems. That’s why a single address works for both assistants. upCampo’s server is published in the protocol’s official registry.

One address, two assistants: the farm in upCampo, the UPí connector, and ChatGPT and Claude, with 12 lookup tools, 5 entry tools and none that delete data

What you can ask and record

The connector covers the farm’s day-to-day topics: production, rainfall, pest scouting, work orders, inventory, fleet, post-harvest and costs, plus the upCampo Help Center for how-to questions.

There are 17 tools: 12 for lookups and 5 for entries. The same way, you can record:

  • the day’s rainfall;
  • machine fueling;
  • opening a work order;
  • executing a work order;
  • an invoice entry into inventory.

Before saving any information, the assistant shows what will be recorded and waits for the user’s confirmation. None of the tools delete data.

The farm, open to people who don’t open the system

On WhatsApp, you talk to UPí itself. With the connector, UPí provides the data and the conversation happens in the assistant the person already has open on their computer.

This brings people who rarely log in to the management system closer to the farm: the partner who follows along from afar, the consultant, the group’s controller. Questions that used to become requests to the office get answered on the spot, and cross-checks that used to take two screens and a spreadsheet — the month’s rainfall compared with planting progress, for example — fit in a single sentence.

“When we launched UPí, we said farm management would stop happening on screens and start happening in conversations. The connector is the next step: the conversation happens where people already are. Some managers spend the day in ChatGPT, some consultants work with Claude. It makes no sense to make them open yet another system to find out how much it rained or what a field cost,” says Jonas Rotilli, CEO and founder of upCampo.

Early users build their own view of the farm

Among the first to use the connector is Carlos Kochemborges, from Sapezal (MT). Within a few days, he was building his own farm visualizations in the assistant — clicking a machine shows where the money went and opens the invoice — and set the dashboard to refresh itself three times a day, using one of the assistant’s own features.

“We do a lot inside the system, and now we create the visualizations ourselves, our way. Want to see just the contracts? I ask and it builds it. It’s going to make things so much easier.”

He also points out the care this new tool calls for:

“You have to know how to do it and double-check. In a fueling analysis, I caught a few errors and asked it to fix them. The good thing is you don’t lose anything; it just keeps getting better.”

With the access the user already has

Security follows the system’s own rules:

  • Your password stays with upCampo. Users sign in on an upCampo screen, with the same login as the portal, and the assistant only receives an authorization that can be revoked at any time.
  • Everyone sees what they already saw. The assistant sees only the farms and topics that user already sees, granted by the administrator farm by farm.
  • The connector doesn’t store data. Each question is looked up on the spot, and the answer goes straight to the assistant. What happens to the conversation from there — history, dashboards created, how long it’s kept — follows Claude’s or ChatGPT’s rules and the settings of the user’s account.
  • All usage is logged, just like portal access.

upCampo’s general data protection practices are on the security and integrations page.

Built on real operations

UPí and the connector rest on the data the upCampo platform has built up since 2019:

  • 16+ million hectares accumulated in work orders;
  • 72,000+ field activities recorded;
  • 65,400+ pest scouting reports completed;
  • 260,000+ cotton bales tracked.

On WhatsApp, ChatGPT or Claude

Your farm answers wherever you are. The connector is available to customers on upCampo’s full platform, up.360, which includes UPí. Step-by-step setup instructions are in the guide how to connect your farm data to ChatGPT and Claude and on the connector page in the Help Center.

Growers, managers and farm groups can learn about the connector and request a free month for the whole farm, with no contract to sign.

Frequently asked questions

What is upCampo’s MCP connector?

It’s the way to use UPí, upCampo’s artificial intelligence, inside ChatGPT and Claude. The connector links the assistant to the upCampo platform to look up and record farm data in natural language, with the user’s own account and permissions.

Does the connector work in ChatGPT and Claude?

Yes. The same address, https://mcp.upcampo.com.br/mcp, works for both. In ChatGPT, the feature requires a Business, Enterprise or Edu plan and works in the browser; that requirement comes from the assistant, not from upCampo.

What can I do with the connector?

Look up production, rainfall, pest scouting, work orders, inventory, fleet, post-harvest and costs, and get how-to answers from the Help Center. You can also record rainfall, fueling, opening and executing work orders, and invoice entries into inventory, always with the user’s confirmation. No tool deletes data.

Does the connector store my farm’s data?

No. upCampo’s connector looks up the data on the spot and delivers the answer to the assistant, and all usage is logged. What happens to the conversation afterward — history, dashboards and retention — follows ChatGPT’s or Claude’s rules and the settings of the user’s account.

Do I need to be an upCampo customer to use the connector?

Yes. The connector works on the data recorded in the upCampo platform and is available to customers on the full platform, up.360, which includes UPí. If you’re not a customer yet, you can request a free month for the whole farm on the website.

What’s the difference between UPí on WhatsApp and the MCP connector?

On WhatsApp, you talk to UPí itself, and the channel works well for people in the field. With the connector, UPí provides the data and the conversation happens in ChatGPT or Claude, the assistant the person already uses on their computer. The data and permissions are the same either way.

About upCampo

upCampo is a Brazilian farm management technology company based in Cuiabá (MT), with customers in Brazil and Paraguay. The platform organizes the farm starting from operations — pest scouting, work orders, inventory and costs, and integrated management with fleet, processing, storage and tax — and UPí, its artificial intelligence, takes that management to WhatsApp, ChatGPT and Claude.

Since 2019, the platform has accumulated more than 16 million hectares in work orders.
